Documents required for shipping your vehicle
These are the important documents you need to provide, and the paperwork required:
- Vehicle title: two copies required one for booking and the original to go with your vehicle.
- Personal identification: two copies of government-issued identification, e.g. driver’s license, passport or SA ID.
- Proof of ownership of your vehicle. This can vary depending on whether you have recently purchased you car, in which case you’ll need a Bill of Sale, or if it is currently financed you must supply a copy of the title and a copy of the lien authorisation, both notarised by the lien holder.
- Consignee Form: provided by the shipper, typically the information required is the personal details of the person shipping the vehicles as well as those of the consignee. You’ll also need to provide the year, make, model, and value of your vehicle.
